This Picture was taken in Selma, Alabama.I can tell that Selma is a rual town. The picture seems to be light so it was probaly taken around 1 to 3 o'clock. I see a few people standing around the store. There aren't alot of custermers, which might mean that the store is struggling. The men standing outside the store are probally around adult hood. The picture was taken to far away so i can not see any distugiushing features. In this photo I see a store of some sort. I think it might be a grocery store because i see many advertsing signs. One looks like Coca-a-Cola. Also it looks like a gas station because of the Gas pump on the right. The store seems to be in a bad condition. Out in the distance i can see what looks like a farm. I think this photo is light-negative type of photo.
This Photo in my opionon sets a great picture of what the great depression is like. The great depression was a bad and dizmal time. This photo also looks very dizmal. The bulding is run down just like most of the other buldings in this time period. It also looks dizmal becasue the people are looking sad or gloomy.
One question I would ask is why did the photographer take the photo from what looks like the back of the sotre?
My second question would be why would he take the picture from such a far distance?

In this picture its a whole diffennt scene. This picture is set Eutaw, Alabama. I see two African Americans hard at work on some farm. One is a woman and the other is a man. They are both using Hoes to dig up what looks like weeds. I can imanginge that it is very hot out because there are both wearing hats to protect them from the sun. The farm they are working on looks very big because you can see very far out. Also they could be the only ones working the farm because see no other farmers.
This is another great picture to show what it was like during the Great Depression. Many people had to work very hard to make a living. They probally got little pay becuase there was such a little income. These African Amercains probally ahd no choice of what job they could get becasue of the segragration of whites and balcks.

This photo is different then both of the photos. This when is the town of Greensboro, Alabama. In this photo i can see a street and bulidings. The bulidings look like abonded. They could have possibly been ounce booming stores. On the far left i see one store that many people are at. I also see what looks like a church or possibly a town hall.
I think this is another great photo that shows how the Great Depression had an effect on everyone. This photo is differnt then the rest becuae this is not on a farm. This photo shows that alot of bussiness failed, however some stayed strong, as you can see in the photo one store is booming with people in it and others that have no one.
Store with false front.
